U-shaped injected aluminium support, finished in bright chrome, with transparent glass tube containing main body of lamp (uses GY6.35 bulb holder for 50 W low voltage bulbs). Light beam may be swivelled 300° on base axis and 120° at the head, giving great flexibility for lighting any point round the lamp. A track-mounted version is also available, and a surface mounted version with one or two lights.

The recessed version of CARDAN-SPIRIT can hardly be noticed in the interior. The frame and luminaire housing, both painted in discreet titanium colour, form a delicate envelope for the SPIRIT lighting heads that seem to float freely inside.
The individual lighting heads are separated by a narrow fin, which additional emphasises the delicate lightness of the luminaire. As the control gear is accommodated in the ceiling cavity, the calm appearance is not disturbed at all. The frequently undesired "black hole" in the ceiling does not exist, and the luminaire remains perfectly unobtrusive.
