Vicente Soto’s new offering is more than just another contemporary design. From the very first moment, Novecento, represents an invitation in all its senses. A call which evokes a different era, when afternoons drifted by and time passed more slowly.
As if recently taken from an Italian palace, this chair manufacturers puts aside ornaments as it transmits the very essence of romance in the minimum number of elements. Conceived from a naturalist perspective, based on classical shapes, Novecento gives us an attractive reflection of the multiple possibilities provided by the use of polypropylene, already seen in earlier models such as Regata.
The result is a surprising design, a striking blend of the balance between the solemn and the familiar. The restrained use of curves adds an almost monastic touch to the piece, bringing to mind the style of the gardens of the Novecento, thus establishing a passionate dialogue as a way of understanding a very contemporary 21st Century synthesis.
