The elegant transparency is achieved by making use of a 12-mm thin “floating” worktop carried by thin I-shaped legs, connected by an aluminium worktop rail with a worktop support. This prestigious collection can be considered as a blend of design and research into innovative materials: this can be seen in the special profile shape of the frame.
It is made of phenolic plywood legs coated with anodised aluminium sheet, wood veneer, leather or lacquered embossed finish. The anodised aluminium frame is also available coated in wood veneer, leather or lacquered embossed finish.
The veneer comes with open-pore finish that gives the surface a new warm material quality and let enjoy the
pure features of wood: soft to touch with a natural finish.

The Ahrend 1200 table series throws new, inspiring light on office work and conferencing. The design, incorporating integrated lighting in combination with a glass or acrylic surface, is very striking. The underside of the tabletop is made completely or partially matt, which creates a unique spatial effect. The frame of the Ahrend 1200 is made of cast aluminium with a powder-coated or chrome finish. Thanks to the modular design of the table system, it can be used to create a variety of configurations. The designers, Roberto Meyer and Jeroen van Schooten, explained the background of the design as follows: "our fascination for light and translucent materials was the leitmotiv that led to the design of the Ahrend 1200 as an object that transforms the atmosphere of any space where it is used".

The heart of the design is the triangular aluminum leg and the way it is connected to the top surface. A tooled connecting mechanism is routed into the underneath of the top surface. The aluminum leg slides on to the mechanism, and with a simple turn of the locking knob the leg is secured to the top. When two tables are joined together, the legs - not tops - are connected via an aluminum panel that simply clips into the top and bottom of the two table legs. This panel clamps the legs together
securely and melts seamlessly into a single harmonious unit.
This leg unit, when joined with an aluminum panel, also offers a cable niche
and feed access to manage cables from the table top. The panel can be removed easily for access to cable and has a wire
outfeed hole at the bottom. To complete the functional approach of
Segno, each leg offers a built-in adjustable glide making it easy to compensate for uneven floors. A one inch adjustment to the overall table height is easily accomplished with a few turns with the hexagonal screwdriver that is supplied with every order. |
