“Bulur” means “brilliant”. The Bulurbaft is the highest possible quality of nomadic carpets-finer than the Luribaff and Kashkuli. They are woven using the finest and thinnest. The Bulurbaft is produced by the Bachtiari tribe; it takes 8-12 months to produce a 6 square meter (18 square feet) carpet.
Sofreh is the Persian word for table cloth or “eating cloth” and is placed on the floor for serving meals. The Sofreh is a woven carpet with an insulating layer on the back because the weft on the back is not knotted. The Sofreh is similar to the Soumakh but is usually square and beautifully embroidered.
