The Online Architecture and Design Exhibition
A period wall light is designed to highlight an important architectural element or object in a room. Its design recalls that of another time through the use of studied shapes, an abundance of decorative elements and a base of bronze or carved wood.
These fixtures are found principally in hallways, bathrooms and other small areas, though they also provide supplementary lighting in larger rooms.
Such lights use incandescent, fluorescent, halogen, LED or other types of bulb.
Location (interior or exterior), finish details and overall aesthetic qualities should be considered when choosing a period fixture.
