A commercial tap is intended for use in commercial or public spaces, sometimes in multiples. Some have features enhancing function, hygiene, safety and water conservation, such as light-sensor operation. On ArchiExpo, these devices are arranged by properties such as installation method (e.g., wall-mounted) or special features (e.g., self-closing).
Such taps are found in medical facilities, shopping centers, bars, hotels and a variety of other public and commercial settings.
Consider ease of use and maintenance requirements. Operation systems include self-closing, light sensor, manual and knee-activated. No-touch configurations can enhance hygiene or encourage water economy (e.g., light sensor), but in some case prevent the user from controlling water flow or temperature.
Determine sturdiness and ease of cleaning. A streamlined design may be easier to clean than an ornate one. Regulations require thermostatically controlled taps in certain buildings to limit temperature and prevent scalding.
