Mirallmar mirror -1991-
Eduard Samsó
Mirror composed of 7 different square mirrors . The mirrors are plane with exception of the one marked H, which is concave. Structure, ferrules and discs in zinc-plated iron.
A mirror of seven faces with clear deconstructive vocation.Eduard Samsó
made a photo of himself in a pure Magritte style.
Eduard Samsó
“Seven mirrors randomly deployed on a zig-zagging spine configure the object. The seven faces are a thought, an intuition and, as such, something never definitive, always unfinished... In order to be able to define themselves, they need a place to reflect and thus to inhabit. In contrast, at the spine everything is terminated, constructed... There everything is definitive and conclusive. Intentionally, a part of this spine is left exposed to view in order to give a few clues as to the laws governing its construction”.

It certainly doesn’t look its age. Gronda, the mirror-hook hanger designed in the early seventies by Luciano Bertoncini, is still trendy and able to give the bathroom or waiting room a minimal look with a touch of irony.
At first sight Gronda, revived by Pallucco, seems a simple full-height mirror, but you only need to press it along the thin wavy line to discover that it in fact incorporates a concealed hook hanger. The mechanism consists of the upper part that retracts and the lower part that becomes a hook for hanging clothes or whatever...
Gronda is available in two versions: mirror and hook hanger or simply hook hanger. It is extremely adaptable to styles and needs, whether residential or contract furnishings. It consists of separate modules, which may be put together in succession as required: each one is wall mounted by means of a special support. The frame is in steel with a white RAL 9003 epoxy powder paint finish and the glass is 5 cm thick.

When Lobmeyr asked Florian Ladstätter to rethink the idea of the Rococo mirror an impressive flush of creativity came back.
One very fascinating project being this
collection of flower shaped architectonic elements. The precisely cut parts of the mirror usually sitting bound into their two dimensional position is broken up. The Lobmeyr Orchid collection features six designs, inspired by the blossom's typical one-axis symmetry and the huge diversity of petal shapes. The Orchids are made in a size of 20-30 inches of diameter. Custom versions can be designed upon request.

Calvet mirror -1902-
Antoni Gaudí
Varnished or covered in fine gold bread solid oak.
Calvet mirror: 58 x h.195cm.
Antoni Gaudí (1852/1926) is, without doubt, the most internationally well-known Spanish architect. But is not only his buildings and brilliant architectural solutions that have travelled the globe. His integrated conception of architecture led him to pay attention, not only to structural calculations, but also to all the decorative elements, including furniture, that would form part of the building.
In contrast with what happened in general to almost all the Modernista furniture which ended up going out of fashion, furniture designed by Gaudí is still as modern today as it was when it was first designed. Perhaps this is because it is more reminiscent ofsculpture than mere benches and chairs. The Calvet armchair is outstanding amongst these designs because of its expressive force. It was designed along with four other pieces –a stool, a mirror, a chair and a bench– for the house of the same name in the Carrer Casp in Barcelona. This was the Catalan architect’s first housing project and it was awarded a prize by Barcelona city council forbeing the best building in 1900. Two years later, Gaudí designed the furniture, carved in oak, for the offices on the ground floor of the building. They were first produced by the Casa y Bardés company and they are preserved at the Gaudí Museum in the Park Güell.

To continue the line of Iris Design Studio's bathroom mirrors, called Perito Moreno, and to add a more exotic version to the Perito Moreno Vanity Circle, Iris designed the new Perito Moreno Vanity Flower. A great amount of light comes from the 12 halogen bulbs, providing a warm, clear atmosphere to circle to mirror.
This unique piece is an exciting addition to any space, particularly bathrooms and spas, as it gives warm light, clear and strong view and a distictive design.
Perito Moreno Vanity Flower is IP44 rated.
Perito Moreno is celebrating the life of Thomas A Edison, one of the great symbols of the industrialized West. Today, we are so used to have electricity in every house, car, and street, that we never see the bulb as a decorative object. This design aims to change that view with an optical illusion. The Perito Moreno collection incorporates a small halogen bulb in a lamp shed of half the Edison bulb: a new technology hides behind the low-tech. The reflection of the half-bulb in the mirrored glass behind the shed, makes the viewer wonder as to where the light is coming from. With the arabesque decorative edges, this design turns into a light source that is not only functional and commercial, but also delicate and exotic.
Perito Moreno comes in a variety of models colors and shapes. It is not only and exciting new idea, but a tool for architects and interior designers to use and play with. One can specify any color, size or print of Perito Moreno and Iris Design Studio Ltd shall manufacture it for him.
