A double-handle kitchen mixer tap uses a single, tall spout for both hot and cold water, while allowing the flow of each to be adjusted independently. It may be attached to the wall, to a mounting plate or directly to the sink or counter. Such taps are found primarily in professional or domestic kitchens, but may also be used in utility rooms, laboratories or other settings.
There are different types of mixer taps. A single-flow model mixes hot and cold water. The dual-flow version runs both hot and cold water through the same spout, but from separate feeds. A triple-flow tap has a third feed, normally for filtered drinking water.
Determine whether tap style will match other metallic kitchen fixtures. Ensure that the tap is high enough for easy dish washing. Optional features might include a pullout spray head. Using a tri-flow tap with a purified drinking water system in the home may save time and space compared to a separate, manual water filter.
