From the most ancient times, in temples and the richest dwellings the stones, and later the bricks, were covered with a paste known as plaster, applied in layers to create a smooth, even surface. In modern building practice, even today plaster plays the dual role of protecting the structure and linking it into the environment, while painting is used to beautify, describe and embellish an interior, and give it style and character. The « Pictoria » series, inspired by the many and varied ways in which painters express themselves, offers measured, light, painted and textured decorations, integrated in and transpiring from the material itself and emerging and expanding into warm, permeating sensations.
