Facade systems
Creating open spaces. Realising creative concepts. Understanding architecture as an idea. This is the challenge we face.
For public and commercial buildings, as well as for industrial and administrative buildings. Whether classical mullion-transom façades, element façades, window façades, structural glazing or even three-dimensional objects, such as pyramids, polygons or cradle vaults.
With WICTEC façade systems, all conceivable variants are possible. Design diversity combined with technical variability are what we do best. Sight lines of 50 to 90 mm give rise to completely new creative freedoms. The possibilities for combining the different elements, as well as the compatibility of the systems, enable customised solutions.
However, there is more to façades than technical functionality and creativity; "intelligent façades" are becoming increasingly important. Energy savings, lower costs and greater quality of life are the keywords. Today, the focus is on the development of photovoltaic-, PSW- (passive solar wall) and DuoWall-façade systems. Here, too, WICONA offers a comprehensive range that is being extended and developed on an ongoing basis.

Coloured pane, design opportunities
Coloured glass has always indicated wealth - DecorGem® is also a communication tool, signifying identity and visibility.
DecorGem® enamelled glass panes are manufactured through an exclusive proprietary OmniDecor® technological process: colours are made to penetrate glass at high temperatures. Panes are available in "opaque-covering" and "semi-transparent" versions, the latter featuring a slight diffusion effect. Both versions guarantee chromatic consistency.
Colours that are melted within glass panes are unalterable over time and allow for new opportunities in coating, partitioning, processing, for both outdoor and indoor environments.
In grey and anonymous urban settings, new architecture has discovered the strength of colours, the simplicity of communication entrusted to DecorGem® - a material that is reliable and unalterable. In indoor settings, whether designed for commercial or living purposes, a skilful use of chromatisms is an acknowledged source of vitality and well-being. Interior decorating and product design derive further advantages from DecorGem®, in that it is easy to process, and therefore adaptable to a wide range of places and spaces, and its surface is perfectly uniform.

After gathering light during the day, Veluna glows in the dark. It radiates a visible greenish-blue light for more than one hour, after only a 20 minute exposure to fluorescent light. This luminescent material challenges you to conceive totally fresh approaches to design. Available in panels or bricks, Veluna is a versatile alternative to tradtional architectural materials.

Imagine sparkling water captured in a window. That's the visual effect you get with Aquaglass -- a decorative glazing material with tiny "carbonating" air bubbles. Whether you edge light the glass or use it as a translucent panel, the appearance is dramatic.
