A d line front runner since the early seventies, the L shape is not only the classic model of the series, but also the lever enjoying the widest application. With this lever, the d line tradition of stalwart, minimalist design was established. The integration of form and function is so smooth that the lever's contemporary status remains undiminished.

A product of simple geometry the U lever constitutes a classic at d line. Its extensive surface and return to door geometry - features ensuring an easy and firm hold - have made the U lever a popular choice for daycare centres, hospitals, as well as other buildings occupied by children, senior citizens, or the less able.

Sometimes design means reviewing the existing. For regardless of both outset and approach, the same result is never achieved twice. In other words, the idea behind the FF lever is unchanged when compared to older models, but the material is treated somewhat differently. New methods of production were prerequisites for translating idea into practice. Model FF became the first d line product to reach a satisfactory level of integration between welded elements and design cohesion.

Like the M shape, the C shaped lever is an instance of innovation within the framework of an existing design concept. Here, the challenge faced by Knud Holscher and d line lay in the formation of a distinctly modern lever drawing on the widely used Scandinavian 'coupe' design. Benefiting from improved techniques of metal bending in the nineties, it proved feasible for Knud Holscher to experiment with another kind of geometric simplicity. The result of this working process is the C lever.
