Jan Armgardt has created a particularly inventive piece of seating furniture for the new Wittmann collection, in the shape of Rio. The sofa doubles up as a comfortable chaise longue with built-in storage. It converts effortlessly, and is ideal for both sitting and reclining.
Armgardt has also hit on an unusual solution in formal terms. The inviting shape lends Rio a classic and timeless appearance despite its innovative dual function. Although the seating and reclining areas are visually distinct they blend into a harmonious whole. A storage unit which can either be finished in wood or leather lends the piece a special note and serves a practical purpose, too.
There is also a matching stool which stands out for its refinement. It can be used as a seat or – thanks to the removable sliding wood top – as a table. The foot stool is available in widths of 90 or 110 centimetres and there is a choice of 195 or 225cm wide sofas.
