Inspired by the decade of the swinging Sixties, this retro collection of contemporary prints and wallpapers reflects the heyday of Carnaby Street. Fresh florals and lively geometrics sit side by side with large scale feature wallpapers in progressive colour groups. The bold compositions, on printed cotton linens, are both tactile and striking. Many fabrics are highlighted with raised metallic details, these subtle textured accents add luxury and energy to the designs. Soft shades of silver, peppermint and aqua mix with more funky, vibrant tones of poppy, kiwi and liquorice. A mixture of shades in a chromatic crescendo from natural to pastel up to dazzling tones: the stripe motif is repeated in different patterns, from multiple stripes to herring bone, that recall each other like a musical score in the symphony which gives voice to the Allegro Vivace collection. The protagonists of this cheerful interpretation are the heavy and large-width cottons and the coordinating light linens in which the multicoloured stripes are combined with neutral backgrounds to form an original ribbed alternative to the more traditional plain linen curtain.

On a full-bodied linen ground, thick patches of colour with a raised effect reference the saturated colour of the works by the well-known American-Lithuanian artist, an exponent of abstract expressionism, an American artistic movement from the post-War years.

Tao Flower is named after the 4th century poet who, frustrated by his post in government, retired to tend to his garden. These flowers have come to be identified with Tao and his Utopian retreat. A scattered repeat of beautifully drawn chrysanthemums float against a soft trellis ground – the fineness of line, soft colours and the impressionistic trellis of the glazed linen ground marry beautifully to make the most ethereal decorative fabric.

The “Rockrose” Collection is inspired by the turning Seasons, set against the brilliant white of flowering rockroses. This results in profiles that combine both modern and classical features, the very trademark of its designer. The Collection is made up of a primary image in four different colours, coordinated stripes, linen voiles and velvets, in natural fibres and a great variety of tones.

Tea Party is a witty take on a classic ‘Toile de Jouy’ design. Mythical birds sit in fantastic trees whilst little acrobats somersault, balancing tea pots on their feet, watched over by smiling characters. The slubby linen ground and the unexpected colour combinations give a modern freshness to a classical idea.
