Description
Seeking a new shape for a non-upholstered seating element, a lounge chair or a chaise longue, the design blossoms from a “cellular” genesis of petals sewn in triangular shapes, creating ample patterns. The lightly padded petals feature reversible materials – felt and wool fabric; wool fabric and leather – which create a supporting cover that is then fixed to a stainlesssteel metal frame. The cover creates two very different and striking moods: with the petals facing upwards for a more unconventional, feminine version; or facing downward for a deliberately severe, quilted look. The two sides are available in black and white, or a natural tone matched with a kaleidoscopic patchwork.

Deck Chair
Rud Thygesen and Johnny Sørensen designed the deck chair in 1984 as part of the King%u2019s Furniture series. Introduced in 1969, the series is now a true classic of Danish design history. It takes its name from the furniture presented to the Danish King Frederik IX on the occasion of his 70th birthday in 1970. With its exquisite workmanship and the graceful curve of the woven backs, the deck chair is a natural complement to the original products. Available with or without cushions.

Designed by Le Corbusier with Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, the "chaise longue à réglage continu" - also known asB306 - was presented at the "Salone d'Automne" in Paris in 1929 as part of the "Equipement interieur d'une habitation (Interior equipment of a room)".
Certainly, the most famous classic of the "Le Corbusier group," is constituted by two independent elements: the base and the cradle (seat or rest). The cradle - the form follows the curve of the human body - appears to move on its base and it can slide without any mechanisms, with a continual gliding that allows for any angle and it remains stable thanks to the friction of steel and the rubber covering the crosspieces of the base.
Le Corbusier defined it as the "true resting machine" and mentioned having thought of a cowboy while designing, smoking his pipe, sitting with his feet up, supported on the edge of the fireplace.

Chill Out – a furniture sculpture
Manfred Wakolbinger’s vivacious, futuristic sculptures have made him famous well beyond Austria’s borders. Wakolbinger’s first furniture piece for Wittmann is both sculptural and functional. The artist also drew inspiration from visits to the Orient and suites of the 1970s.
Chill Out has an exciting new look and invites you to explore new ways of sitting and reclining. As a sofa and double recliner it is a very communicative piece with room for several people. Chill Out is also available as a solo recliner for those who simply want, as the name suggests, to relax. The excellent workmanship is typically Wittmann. Each roll is individually worked into the covers of the seat and back by hand with painstaking care.
By including Manfred Wakolbinger’s Chill Out in its range, Wittmann is presenting an artwork that is pioneering in both visual and functional terms.
