Transparent Media Façades: IMAGIC WEAVE
Architectural façades are becoming the focus of new media communication. Large scale imaging and architectural video designed using LED media solutions accentuate the appearance and functionality of contemporary architectural sites in any urban landscape, day and night.
IMAGIC WEAVE, a combination of Haver Architectural Wire Mesh and state-of-the-art LED technology, enables to create individually programmable lighting effects in up to 16 million colours including full video content on a new or existing façade.
The wire mesh elements are custom-made for the specific project. DOGLA-TRIO is the most suitable type of mesh, fabricated in max. 3 meter width and upon request available in other dimensions, too. The maxim height is limited by handling and static reasons only. In general the mesh elements are tensioned from top to bottom. Different mounting systems are available with regard to the specifics of each project.
By attaching slim LED-profiles to the reverse side of the wire mesh the homogenous and transparent look of the façade is maintained at all times, even when the LEDs are not in use.
Both indoor and outdoor façades may be embellished with medium to high resolution video and graphic animation. IMAGIC WEAVE offers all of the benefits of an LED imaging solution within a plug’n’play stainless steel mesh system.

Illumesh®, another joint development by GKD – Gebrüder Kufferath AG and ag4 media facade GmbH, is the technology of choice when it is a matter of presenting large fabric areas atmospherically.
The special holders woven into the fabric contain LED round profiles which project an interplay of colors and images onto the metallic surface. Illumesh® can be used to project - from complex designs to simple graphics - onto your building facade. In comparison to conventional media displays, the costs for light design and energy consumption are considerably lower when using Illumesh®.

STOCKAL® is the Novelis brand name for its aluminium sheet pre-painted with polyester based liquid paints. STOCKAL® is eminently suitable for use in the building industry, especially for façade cladding and window flashings. The wide range of colours and the extraordinary workability of the aluminium substrate make STOCKAL® the most versatile material produced by Novelis.
STOCKAL® is characterised by an extraordinary degree of workability. Thanks to its chemical and mechanical characteristics, due to the combination of an EN AW 5010 alloy and polyester based liquid paints, STOCKAL® can be easily worked using the main mechanical working processes: bending, drilling, milling and cutting; these are only part of the standard working processes for STOCKAL®. The use of a special protective liquid coating on the reverse side also makes STOCKAL® suitable for gluing and bonding.

"The focus was on functionality, safety, compatibility with the existing Chesapeake Energy campus architecture, and reinvention of the typical parking garage image while making it fun for the daily users of this garage."
Elliott + Associates Architects
To achieve this goal the architect's team created a concept, that followed certain guidelines:
1. We will “store” 791 cars with 4 levels.
2. The exterior skin must be a minimum of 20% open by code.
3. Make the building unrecognizable as a parking garage. At first glance it will appear as an office building.
4. Devise a way so that the cars are not visible from the outside during daytime or nighttime.
5. Make the exterior respond to the constantly changing light and color of the Oklahoma sky.
6. The structure will “connect” to campus and not duplicate.
7. Think “Brick Shadow” and soft / sky reflections.
8. Make the architectural mass “dissolve” into the sky.
To achieve a homogenous surface with only 25% open area, Haver & Boecker designed a new mesh specification using slightly crimped flat wires: LARGO-PLENUS 2022 made from Stainless Steel T316.
Small gaps between panels provide minimal interference for the integrity of the mesh facade.

Planet-M is a remarkable building object which was to be clad with stainless steel wire mesh in a three-dimensional way. The 'Escale' mesh was especially developed for this project. At daytime, it reflects the light as a glistening surface. At night, when the Planet starts glowing by means of 380 light sources, the mesh recedes optically and serves as a filigree light distributor.

TECU® Bond is new:
large, extremely even, warp resistant sheets clad on both sides with TECU® Classic copper.
TECU® Bond is copper for for façade and interior design. Copper of the intelligent kind in fact.
TECU® Bond Sheets
TECU® Bond Sheets are simple but efficient in design: under high pressure, 0.5-mm-thick layers of copper are applied onto both surfaces of a polyethylene core, creating an extremely robust composite material.
The result is a façade material which is easy to work and install. In the factory the copper surfaces are covered with protective foil, which provides the material with effective protection from soiling during construction work. The foil is quick and easy to remove after installation of the sheets.

Shingles
This style of traditional cladding has assumed growing popularity in the UK market recently and CGL offer shingle systems in a wide variety of metals and finishes.
This style of cladding is described as "fully supported" as shingles are historically manufactured from thin gauge metals and therefore have virtually no inherent spanning capability. Regular fixing of the shingle edges by clips is therefore essential together with the overlap arrangement at shingle edges.
Materials in popular use are %u2013
Stainless steel
Copper
Brass
Aluminium
Zinc
Metal gauges used range from 0.5mm to 1.2mm and therefore the systems are priced economically. A "distressed" appearance is accepted as standard due to the gauge and flexibility of the metals.

No longer can aesthetics be sacrificed for functionality in parking design.
New demands on parking structures require them to be elegant, thematic, and serve as focal points that can attract new business - all while seamlessly maintaining their utilitarian purpose. Cambridge has assisted in this visionary shift by providing a solution that meets these demands.
Architects who use Cambridge Parkade systems discover that mesh provides a highly textured and glimmering surface that intrigues the senses and invites drivers to park their vehicles within its space.
Mixed-use facilities of today feature elegantly integrated parking facilities. Parking facility design elements often become thematic to the overall facility. For example, it's not uncommon to see exterior features of a parking facility carried into the interior design of the facility it serves. Cambridge woven metal fabric easily accommodates this design strategy.
No other cladding material transforms ordinary open parking structures into truly extraordinary architecture as effortlessly, economically and environmentally sound than architectural mesh.
Cambridge Architectural Parkade systems provide cost-effective lightweight mesh systems with expert-led installations.
Cambridge Architectural occupies an important space in a new generation of parking design.
