Mosaic Baroque
Format: 4,7 x 4,7 cm
“Small tiles, bic impact”
The guiding idea behind this mosaic range was to present mosaic and combination tiles as a harmonious interior design concept: the fine stoneware mosaic tiles in 30 x 30 cm format, finished with a special glaze, follow classic mosaic styles and, when grouted, cannot be distinguished from original mosaic. With a constant joint width and standard material thickness, all formats in the range are modularly coordinated and can be combined to produce an impressive design effect. The new mosaic tiles from Steuler are also much easier to handle and lay than lattice-bonded material – saving time and sanity!
The mosaics of the decorative tiles and borders in the MOSAIC BAROQUE series – again in large format – allow playful combinations with romantic ornaments. In harmony with the sophisticated pattern colours, such as eggshell-grey or anthracite-red-brown, the matching floor tiles give each room a lavish feel.

History is a mosaic of independent yet inseparable meaningful tiles. The history of mosaic is therefore a mosaic par excellence, of which also Appiani with its long tradition, dated back 1874, is a part. Small yet great. To this history, Appiani adds another important tile with Opera. A ceramic product in "monopressocottura" (single-fired and singlepressed tile) dedicated to indoor and outdoor floorings, especially large sized ones. Creatively assorting tiles of different colours and sizes, Appiani has created Opera units, which designers are free to express in refined decorative and architectural designs and compositions.

An interesting crossroads, intriguing and definitely fascinating. Starting from the position that true value is to be found in sharing as even the delicate process of falling in love starts when two people entwine their hopes and dreams. A crossroads is formed by the intersection of two paths; we have once more crossed materials and formats to create a collection founded in collaboration with Antonio Lupi Design. As result, simple and clean, no useless details but Viva decoration that gives a soul to severest minimalism.

Term which generally refers to the mixture of glazed & single fired porous tiles, with rapid cycle and indoor use. Historically the term appeared in 1982 during the research and the ratification of the first results which permitted the achievement of tiles with good mechanical resistance, nil or very limited shrinkage, reasonably high porosity, slim thickness and covering even with matt & glossy glazes as the traditional production of majolica & earthenware.
The body composition of classic red porous single firing obtained with a wet cycle differs from majolica due to the minor content of carbonates and a composition of different raw materials in which sand, sandy clay & feldspars can be found to eliminate the tendency of black core and facilitates the viscosity of the slurry. With the DRY-TECH system this problem is avoided and it is possible to increase the plastic components of the mixture and decrease the costs of raw materials. The mixture is fired between 1050° & 1100°C with a cycle varying between 30-40 minutes.
The porous single firing white composition is similar to the strong earthenware one and is fired at a temperature above 1100°C on slightly longer cycles. The surface of the support obtained with the DRY-TECH process is without imperfections and %u201Corange peel%u201D effect which therefore permits noticeable savings in engobes and glazes.
