Casein is a complex mixture of proteines and won from milk. It is added to the Marble Paint in powder form and is solubilised with borax to a high-quality
binding agent. Mankind knows for thousands of years that lime mixed with casein is an excellent binder for paints and glues. Some of these works can still be seen in churches and museums. They prove the excellent quality of casein paints. Not only the quality but also the environmental friendly manufacturing and application of casein paints are good reasons to rediscover old recipes and to advance them.
· APPLICATION
Paint for walls and ceilings in the interior. Suitable for application on absorbent surfaces like plaster, stone, concrete, ingrain- and normal wallpaper, drywalls, fibrous plaster boards. Suitable to only a limited extent on old emulsion paint coatings after trial coat with positive result (see "Tips").
Unsuitable surfaces are e.g. old glue-bound distemper coatings, lime coatings, oil paint coatings, latex- and plastic coatings, metal, surfaces with residues of glue and all even, non-absorbent surfaces as well as permanently humid surfaces.
We recommend Kreidezeit Pit Lime Paint (Art.No. 888) for humid rooms.

Electro-smog is part of the environmental pollution weighing heavily on the human organism. The detrimental effects on health are evident, however, comprehensive investigations of the causes are only rarely performed.
The following are brief explanations of the term electro-smog and the possible remedies:
1. Alternating electrical fields (low frequency) caused by electrical installations, electrical appliances, cables, power outlets and distribution
boxes. Remedy: switch off using a demand switch or shield with Kreidezeit Shielding Paint.
2. Alternating magnetic fields (low frequency) caused by electrical current in cables, highvoltage power lines, electrical floor heating, energy-saving lamps, transformers, nightstorage heaters. Remedy: switch off, avoid.
3. Electromagnetic waves (high frequency) caused by radio and television transmitters, microwaves, radar installations, cordless telephones. Remedy: can partially be shielded. It is advisable to consult an experienced construction biologist.
4. Electrical static fields (electrostatic charge) originate from plastic wall papers, synthetic fibre carpets, plastic coatings and varnishes etc.
Remedy: remove synthetics and plastic and use natural surface treatments and floorings. Use conducting glues in medical centres and in computer rooms.

KREIDEZEIT Pit Lime Paint is a white lime paint
acc. to DIN 55945 (German Standard) for use in the interior.
The adhesive and binding capabilities are enormous for a
lime paint.
Available in 2 types:
· Pit Lime Paint: matt, natural white, smooth
· Pit Lime Paint - Textured: fine brush-on plaster
appearance due to the content of fine marble sand
(grain size 0.5 mm). Ideal sub-surface for wall glaze
techniques. Pores and fine cracks can be elutriated.
· EFFECTIVENESS
Thanks to a special recipe and manufacturing process,
KREIDEZEIT Pit Lime Paint produces hard and wiping
resistant surfaces without synthetic resin binders.
The marble pit lime used is dispersed with a high-speed
mixer, whereat the single lime parts are separated
completely. The resulting increase of the overall surface of all
lime particles maximizes the carbonating capacity as well as
the adhesion capacity, which allows KREIDEZEIT Pit Lime
Paint to adhere on surfaces which are normally not suitable
for lime paints. Due to the addition of small amounts of
cellulose glue the return of the lime particles to agglomerates
is limited so that the storage stability is increased while the
adhesion capability is kept.
KREIDEZEIT Pit Lime Paint is enriched with marble flour.
Hence, the surface normally is opaque after 2 coatings.
· SUITABLE SUBSURFACES
Suitable surfaces for application are all untreated mineral
plasters like lime plasters, concrete, stone, masonry, drywalls
and fibrous plasterboards. Suitable to coat all KREIDEZEIT
wall paints and plasters except from KREIDEZEIT Glue bound
Paint.
Ideal coating for humid rooms because the diffusivity of
the surface is not limited while the high alkalinity prevents
fungal decay for a while.
Unsuitable subsurfaces are natural emulsion paints, old
oil paints and plastic coatings. Do not use in the exterior. We
recommend to prime surfaces unsuitable for lime paints with
KREIDEZEIT GekkkoSOL FINE grain (Art. 134).
· HYDROPHOBE SURFACE
By overcoating the paint with diluted soap (Marseille Soap,
Art. 220), a water and dirt repellent surface can be achieved.
These surfaces can be cleaned easily if necessary.

Casein Full Colour Paints are full colour paints for interior walls and ceilings and open to diffusion. They can be mixed in any ratio among each other and / or with Kreidezeit Casein Marble Paint, hence a large spectrum of variety in hues and whites can be achieved.
Suitable also for stencil techniques and paintings. The basis for the production of tempera paints.
The use at damp locations is limited; good ventilation must be ensured. We recommend Kreidezeit Pit Lime Paint (Art. 888) for humid rooms.

Transparent binding agent for wall glazes, brush and stencil techniques in the interior. For tinting with all Kreidezeit pigments as well as other alkaliresistant pigments.
Vega Wall Glaze contains vegetable casein (vegetable protein) as a binding agent. Borax transforms the vegetable casein into glue, the actual binder.
Vegetable casein is produced by leguminous plants like peas, corn, lupines, beans. The product is sold in form of a powder, which reduces transportation
costs and packaging, enhances the storage time and makes chemical antidegradants unnecessary.
· APPLICATION
Suitable for application on all Kreidezeit wall paints and plasters (except from Distemper) and on all other absorbent and coatable plasters and coatings.
White and reflecting, slightly textured (by brush or trowel) surfaces are ideal to achieve the typical appearance of wall glazes. Not suitable for non-absorbent surfaces and permanently humid surfaces.
· PROPERTIES
- Powder to be mixed with water
- Transparent and matt
- Wiping-resistant
- Nearly odourless
- Easy to use and yielding
- Highly diffusible
- Free of antidegradants
- Residues can be composted.
