How to choose this product

roof-tile

Roof tiles are normally secured in overlapping rows to protect buildings from rain and other weather phenomena. They may be uniformly flat, or each row can consist of alternating convex and concave units. Many models are interlocking. On ArchiExpo, these items are arranged by properties including material or type.

Technologies

Among the diverse materials are clay, concrete, stainless steel, PVC and glass tiles in diverse forms. While clay is color-fast, pigment added to concrete tiles may fade over time, requiring renewal. Some, like photovoltaic tiles, have a double function.

How to choose

Determine the number of tiles required, as well as method and ease of installation. Tile choice may also depend on the roof pitch. For example, roman tiles are normally used on low-pitched roofs. Consider maintenance requirements and how easy it is to replace broken tiles.

Other important factors include the tile's resistance to wind, thermal mass, heat resistance and sound absorption properties. Verify that the style of the tile complies with local planning regulations and harmonizes well with its environment.
