A pre-painted steel product is generally composed of three elements: a base layer of steel with a zinc-based coating, a layer of primer and a surface layer of paint called the finish.
The choice of support directly affects the installation of pre-painted steel products and their resistance to corrosion. If the product requires high corrosion resistance, it is best to use a thick zinc layer. Nevertheless, if the part is to be used in works subject to severe deformations, a thinner zinc coating is recommended as it is more flexible and resistant to cracking.
