Our Raffaello Collection takes its inspiration from the Late Empire style, widespread in Italy at the start of the nineteenth century. This style strongly tends to embody the styles that preceded it. Raffaello, by evoking the Late Empire style, recovers the essence of the entire history of classic furnishings, from the Tuscan Renaissance in its inlays to Roman baroque in its carvings.

A special antique polishing adds elegance to the preciousness of the materials and it revives time old history.

The "Rotang" or cane is a palm tree liana of the family of the " Calamées". It pushes in the shade of the trees, in the wet grounds of the tropical forests: Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Malacca, Manila, Java...
Just like for wood, there exist many gasolines, different color, diameter, in length, and which have different qualities.
As anecdote, it is advisable to know that the material cane pushes in certain cases of almost 40 cm per day.

This table is part of the project "Equipement interieur d'une habitation," displayed at the "Salone d'Automne des Artistes Décorateurs" of Paris in 1929.
The lines are simple and severe (a source of inspiration for many modern tables even today) with the use of completely industrial materials (steel and glass).
The tubular ellipse that forms the base was used by the aeronautical industry at that time. Beyond the beauty of its form, it was probably used also because it represented the symbol of the modern era: the airplane.
At the beginning, however, the table was not manufactured: first of all the "airplane tube" was not easy to find and it required a great amount of careful soldering and polishing to produce. The line was in fact considered as too futuristic.
