The Online Architecture and Design Exhibition
On ArchiExpo, sofas are classified primarily by style and by type. These include traditional, modern, design and classic models, as well as convertible, corner, modular and bench-type couches. They are also organized by upholstery, differentiating fabric from leather versions.
This essential piece of furniture offers pleasant seating for guests and constitutes a centerpiece for moments of relaxation at home. It should combine aesthetic qualities with comfort, the former evoking the latter.
The enormous range of models and materials can be combined to meet any requirements. The sturdiest frames are aluminum or steel. In contrast, wood offers a more traditional look.
Padding can be of expanded polyurethane foam, goose down or latex, the latter two offering much higher quality, comfort and hygienic characteristics. Imitation and real leather, Alcantara®, microfiber and other fabrics, and a host of other materials are used to upholster this furniture.
Choice will depend on configuration and dimensions. Select upholstery carefully, keeping in mind that microfiber and Alcantara® stain easily. Fabric upholstery should be removable and washable. Leather is the quality material par excellence and remains the most expensive.
