A pitch for every sport? Of course that would be ideal. However as the budget and space available at many clubs, schools and local authorities are limited, this is not always possible. The solution? Multifunctional fields with synthetic turf suitable for various sports. Knowing that an artificial pitch has the capacity of 3 natural grass pitches the figures speak for themselves. A synthetic pitch will help you save valuable space. A benefit that makes a lot of schools and local authorities decide to equip their sports facilities with synthetic turf.

The new Notts Sport Line Marker Aerosol is the convenient way to introduce markings onto a synthetic surface.
The 750ml cans are available in white, yellow, red and blue to complement the colours of your artificial turf surface, and to distinguish between different zones.
Whereas traditional line marking methods tend to have a short life-span on synthetic surfaces and need frequent re-application, Notts Sport's specially designed formula provides durable, longer-lasting markings than 'standard' aerosols.
This affords sports, play and leisure providers better value for money, as well as cutting the cost of re-marking and any downtime while the surface is 'out of bounds' to users.
Clean and with no waste, the aerosol has a wider range of potential uses including line-marking onto grass, tarmacadam, concrete, and redgra (blaze).
The four wheel multi-functional aerosol applicator can be used in either two or four wheel configurations.
And because it's easy to use and the surface needs little preparation, there's minimal training needed and ground keeping duties are less labour-intensive.

The aim of American football is to gain as much of the field as possible, to score a touchdown or to kick a field goal. This means that the players often make contact with the field. Thanks to the use of skin-friendly artificial fibres and infill material the friction during sliding or falls does not cause extra pain or grazing. A safer field means more enjoyment in the play.
|
|
The practical benefits are indisputable. Footballers who have not yet played on synthetic grass often need some encouragement to be convinced of how enjoyable it is to play on artificial turf. This is understandable given that artificial football pitches often felt hard and unpleasant in the past. However, it is entirely unjustified today as artificial turf systems now comprise extremely skin-friendly materials in terms of both the artificial turf and the rubber infill. Sliding tackles and even 'sliding on the stomach' goal celebrations are possible on artificial turf without the slightest scratch. Desso artificial turf feels as natural as grass.

Today artificial grass is synonymous with the sport of hockey. With the advent of artificial grass in the seventies, field hockey suddenly became much faster and became much more popular. The rules were revised, techniques refined and the artificial fibres became an essential component of the sport.
Artificial grass has everything hockey players could desire. The field offers every opportunity for quick passes and precise ball control. Hockey players benefit from comfortable shock absorption and do not have to fear injury during heavy sliding. Desso Sports Systems has built up a strong reputation in the development of hockey fields and sets the standard in hockey.

Approved by the ECB, the system replicates the best playing characteristics of a well-maintained grass pitch.
In fact, the system provides a similar range of pace and bounce to that offered by natural turf.
This is possible because the playing characteristics are controlled by special components, including the hard porous base and NottsPad, which adjust subject to moisture and compaction.
This means that you can control the pitch performance from week to week to create your perfect pitch.

A rugby pitch takes a hard beating with two teams of 15 players each. Although natural grass generally remains the first choice of rugby players for the feel of the game, typical problems like muddy puddles and bare patches can have a negative impact on the quality of the pitch.

Clay tennis courts tend to become dusty in warm weather and often have to be sprayed. On the other hand, natural grass quickly becomes brown and bare. However, artificial grass always retains the same play characteristics so, as a result, your courts can be played on in both summer and winter with a minimum of maintenance.
Artificial grass also makes painting lines a thing of the past. The lines are simply tufted into the turf and form part of the rest of the artificial carpet. You decide the colours on your tennis court. Playing tennis on artificial grass is also extremely good fun.

VHAF stands for Vertical, Horizontal and Angular Fibres and is an exclusive feature of our products.
The random pile structure effectively stabilises the sand infill, preventing it from moving or compacting.
For court owners and operators this means less time and money spent redistributing and topping up sand levels.
And for players this leads to improved grip, and better performance.

FIELDTURF DURASPINE
The DuraSpine monofilament fibre is based on similar structures found in nature. The arched profile features a durable “spine” which runs vertically through the center of each fibre. Like the center stem or vein on a blade of grass, this spine gives each fibre unmatched “memory” and thus resistance to matting.
This system also enhances ball-roll properties, biomechanics and aesthetics. Tests indicate the DuraSpine fibre is far more resistant to UV and foot traffic, the two main enemies of any turf system. Unlike some new fibres on the market, DuraSpine is not abrasive to players but is silky and lush just like nature intended. The DuraSpine Monofilament Turf System is available in a duotone green. FieldTurf Tarkett can also produce DuraSpine in custom colours to match any requirements. The fibre may be new, but the patented infill system remains the same, a proven success in almost 2000 installations worldwide.

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) insists on the use of artificial turf surfaces for official competitions. With the strength of their experience in this field, FieldTurf Tarkett has developed a specific playing surface for field hockey, meeting the main requirements of the FIH: PUR.
Certified by the FIH in the Global category, FieldTurf Tarkett PUR is the result of research and development work in permanent association with the clubs and our installation teams.
The outcome of these efforts was the confidence placed in FieldTurf Tarkett by the highest federal hockey authorities for the supply and installation of pitches for the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004!
The appearance and the excellent stability of PUR turf also make it one of the favourite finishes for other sports and games pitches, putting greens and golf practice areas.

Prestige XM Monofilament
The Prestige XM Concept is the latest development in the Prestige range. Launched in 2005, it features the most advanced monofilament fibre in the industry. This XM fibre is created exclusively for FieldTurf Tarkett. A durable "spine" runs vertically through the center of each fibre, providing unmatched "memory" and resistance to matting. The arched profile of this monofilament fibre is based on similar structures found in nature. Extruded through a "spinnerette" this “true” monofilament fibre delivers unmatched durability, especially resistance to wear.
Long lasting performance
UV inhibitors are added to the polyethylene mix during the manufacturing stage to create a durable UV resistant fibre. Laboratory testing proves that Prestige fibres provide twice the resistance to ultraviolet rays as that of other fibres. This unique fibre is more resistant to foot traffic yet remains silky and non-abrasive.
Colours
Prestige XM Monofilament is available in a duotone "Field Green and "Olive Green" mix giving pitches the closest natural look ever.
Triple Primary Backing System
The triple primary backing consists of two polypropylene layers "sandwiching" a needle punch layer in between. This backing system has allowed the weight of the latex coating to be increased by over 80%. Thus ensuring greater directional and dimensional stability as well as twice the current level of fibre hold or "tuft bind" required by existing regulations.
Following 5,000 test cycles on the Lissport machine, the loss of shock absorbency was only of 1%!

MELBOURNE RED SAND is a high-density synthetic turf. Playing qualities are the result of the fine red sand in-fill, covering the pile. Comfort and Visual characterisitics are similar to good clay courts.
MELBOURNE RED SAND is an evolution from the BASIC XT 20 surface, using the same polyethelene fibre. These high quality fibers, extremely resistant to UV rays, are more densely concentrated, to a height of 15 mm. Playing characteristics are thus optimized, to offer players:
· Playing comfort similar to clay. Foot pivot is easy, as is sliding.
· Medium-slow pace, ideal for all types of play (with the exception of the highest level of tournaments.)
· A ideal surface for renovation of existing courts
· Pleasing “clay court” type aesthetics
· Durability
A water source near the surface will permit, if necessary, a brief hand- sprinking during hot summer days.
Choosing a MELBOURNE RED SAND surface built by our authorized partners, with the technical assistance of FieldTurf Tarket, assures that our specifications will be carried out, to provide many years of fine play.

Many cities and towns have seen the advantage of using artificial grass to make their streets more attractive. The possibilities are endless: town squares, parks, playgrounds, grass along roadways and tramlines, roundabouts, airports, industrial estates... Not only does public space get a permanent appearance, but maintenance costs are reduced significantly, too. No mowing is required, no watering during hot weather, and no pesticides either.
The Desso BuenaVista products are also of interest for private homes. The grass has the appearance of a perfectly maintained lawn, in all seasons, and solves the problem of shady corners and areas around swimming pools...in fact all the places where natural grass grows poorly, if at all.
Desso BuenaVista gives roof patio areas an instant uplift and creates the perfect low maintenance garden for those who like a garden, but either do not have the time, or are not able to maintain it.
And the price? Well, that's attractive too because you no longer have to mow or irrigate during the summer months or buy expensive pesticides. Artificial turf for consumers and urban applications is an environmentally and economically responsible investment.
