ApplicationsThese barriers are installed between the insulation and the inner treatment of roof slopes, walls, ceilings and floors of interiors. They are indispensable for preventing the diffusion of water vapor across such surfaces in dwellings, offices, stores and all other types of construction.
TechnologiesVapor barriers take the form of a PVC film, polyethylene, polyester, tar paper or aluminum foil. They are installed on interior surfaces after the insulation is in place. When the barrier forms an integral part of an insulating panel, it must always be on the "warm," or interior side to avoid moisture condensation in the insulation. Insulation must always have a vapor barrier on its inner face and a permeable covering on the outer surface.
