Allplan Steel Design is a marriage between Scia Engineer and Allplan, giving access within Allplan to all modelling facilities of Scia Engineer concerning steel structures. By using templates or by direct modelling, Allplan users get access to an extensive set of tools for virtual prototyping & intelligent modelling of steel structures. In your familiar Allplan environment, with objects such as brickwork walls, concrete columns, system floors, glass windows, steel built-in elements, ... it is now possible to work with steel templates. Make your choice out of the many parameterised templates and model your steel structure, connections included. It is not only possible to modify the model by retrieving and adapting its parameters in Allplan, but also to alter it in Scia Engineer. For example, after having performed a profile optimisation in Scia Engineer, the changes are immediately visible in Allplan.
As before, it is possible to generate views and cuts from the Allplan model. Since the model is also an Scia Engineer project, the automatic overview drawings or detail drawings from the CAE software can be used too.
Allplan Steel Design is available on 4 levels: the library of steel templates, the modeller for creating your own construction in Scia Engineer and for reading it in Allplan afterwards, parametric design for parameterising your own constructions (e.g. staircase on the above picture on the right) and the entire Scia Engineer program, not only for modelling but also for performing the static analysis.

PERFORM 3D is a highly focused nonlinear software tool for earthquake resistant design. Complex structures, including those with intricate shear wall layouts, can be analyzed nonlinearly using a wide variety of deformation-based and strength-based limit states.
Model data can be imported directly from ETABS and SAP2000. A wide variety of element types are supported, including beams (with panel zones), columns, braces, shear walls (with openings), floor slabs, dampers, and isolators.
Nonlinear analyses can be static and/or dynamic, and can be run on the same model. Loads can be applied in any sequence, such as a dynamic earthquake load followed by a static pushover.
PERFORM 3D provides powerful performance based design capabilities, and can calculate demand/capacity (usage) ratios for all components and all limit states. Performance assessment based on ATC-40, FEMA-356 or ATC-440 is fully automated.
PERFORM 3D output includes usage ratio plots, pushover diagrams, energy balance displays, as well as mode shapes, deflected shapes, and time history records of displacements and forces.
