The Online Architecture and Design Exhibition
A wall-washer is a type of light used for buildings or theater applications to light a surface evenly. On ArchiExpo, these fixtures are arranged by properties such as type of lighting or type of location.
Such lights are common in commercial and public spaces for facade illumination, ambient lighting in restaurants and bars, stage and exhibition lighting. Some are programmable or come in a range of different colors.
Halogen, LED and other bulb types are used, sometimes arranged in a square or bar for even surface lighting.
Ensure that the light is intense enough to illuminate the entire surface in question. Choose suspended, wall-mounted, floor, or freestanding installation. Consider a programmable model, as well as the different color options.
Outdoor versions should be weatherproof and resist UV rays. Determine energy efficiency and maintenance requirements, including how often the fixture or individual bulb must be changed. Materials used in close proximity to high-temperature bulbs should no be flammable.
