The quality of Fantoni chipboard is due mainly to the exclusive use of particles of new wood, which are mixed with resins produced in the Fantoni factories and then hot-pressed.
A special process distributes large particles to the centre of the board and smaller particles on the surfaces: these give the panels an improved surface finish as well as increased performance characteristics. All products, and in particular "special" products, such as moisture-resistant chipboard, are continually subjected to performance tests.

The medium density fibreboard (MDF) is produced from the finest raw materials mainly high quality de-barked softwood. Can be supplied in various structures, paper faced one or two sides.
Compared to many other wood based materials MDF has a higher bending strength, a higher perpendicular tensile strength and excellent screw holding properties. The mechanical load bearing capacity and resistance of MDF are higher than those of conventional chipboard.
Better values are also obtained on swell behaviour. The medium density fibreboard is characterised by mechanical, technological and physical properties that are comparable with those of solid wood.

Fantoni MDF is made of "chips" of selected woods, which are washed and then refined by special metal discs which are able to separate the fibres without breaking them up. During these operations, any extraneous material is removed n order to ensure improved workability of the panel and reduced wear of metal tools. The fibres are mixed with resins and deposited in the form of a "mat" on a long moving belt: the entire mat goes through a prepressing operation to eliminate air prior to final pressing. The heat and pressure of this operation activate the resin which "binds" the fibres together to create the MDF panel. The Fantoni group is one of the major European producers of these panels.

OSB - Oriented Strand Boards - are resin-bonded wood based panels made of oriented micro-veneers (strands). The strands are compressed into 3 or 4 layers, the surface layer strands are generally laid parallel with the long edges of the panel ("oriented") while the core strands are ideally at right angles to the surface layer strands.
The extreme level of surface orientation is the result of EGGER's innovative mat-forming technology. The strands are exceptionally long and fine compared to conventional manufacturing processes and core and surface layers are processed separately from the start of the manufacturing process. This manufacturing technique lies behind the consistent and groundbreaking qualities of OSB boards.

High-density chipboard with large chips, sanded surface and particularly screwable core glued with high quality MUF glue. Has high ridigity and bending strength.
The specific composition of coarse chips and the special MUF gluing provide SpanO-SB5® with a number of additional strengths:
- The board undergoes minimal expansion and swelling under high humidity conditions. The swelling percentage of SpanO-SB5® after immersion in water for 24 hours is considerably lower than for an OSB board. Therefore, SpanO-SB5® can, while it awaits further finishing, easily be stored unfinished in various weather conditions for a number of weeks.
- Good bending strength in both directions through the combined use of a layer of large area chips and a high quality UMF glue recipe.
- After production the surface of the board is sanded to a uniform thickness, allowing for a high-quality finish. The board is easy to saw and has low formaldehyde emission (E1 class).

The Reno Floor Hydro has high rigidity and a hard, unsanded surface. This provides Reno Floor Hydro with great impact resistance. The hard, highly closed surface greatly facilitates cleaning of the floor.
The Reno Floor Hydro is produced with a melamine glue, allowing the board to retain its basic strength and minimise swelling and linear dimensional change, also in very humid conditions.
