A mosaic is a decorative technique for floors, coverings and walls used to create images and pictures on the installation surface by placing different coloured high tech marble or stone tesserae next to each other. Using Ariostea stones and marbles planners and designers can create artistic mosaics for interior end exterior design solutions.

SHADOW MOSAIC COLLECTION - An exciting new line in stone mosaic that provides a contemporary sculptural surface for walls. The 3d surface captures light and shade allowing the appearance to subtly change depending on the lighting. The collection is suitable for residential and commercial interior application. Lead time is 10-12 weeks and minimum order is 10m2 or premium small order charge. Individual projects can be tailored as each of the ELEVEN designs is available in a choice of eight different stones:

Handmade terracotta bricks lightly sanded on the outside or washed, slightly irregular, available in red, pink or brown, in all sizes and over 500 shapes and profiles.
Filling bricks, in all sizes, complete with a vast range of sub-sizes to enable coverage where there isn't the space or need for a whole element.
Handmade terracotta tiles available in square, rectangular, hexagonal and octagonal formats, sanded, honed or washed according to traditional production processes, suitable for country-style or classic paving, indoors and out. Our longer rectangular formats can be used to create false ceilings supported by a wooden framework of beams, providing valid thermal insulation as well as a warm, rustic appearance.
Flat blocks, particularly long elements for cornices, sometimes with dripstones to complete overhanging cornices and anchor the profile obtained to the masonry.
Round bricks with different diameters, ranging from small to large, for columns, circular section walls, towers or wells, with different capitals in the various diameters.
Arch segments and wedges to create arches, portholes, arched vaults. Small and large roof tiles and ridge tiles to cover roofs, split tiles for domes where the roof slopes so much that standard tiles cannot be laid.

With the products in the mosaics series, Sannini offers the possibility of using terracotta in formats traditionally associated with glass or ceramic tesserae. It is now possible to tile masonry kitchens, bathrooms and curvilinear surfaces with a minute texture of terracotta obtained with acomplex manufacturing process: smoothing to obtain calibrated surfaces, cutting to obtain the required sizes, tumbling to round off sharp corners, installation and manual gluing of all the elements onto a specific paper-mesh structure, so it is immediately available for use. Sannini terracotta mosaic materials come in boxes of 30x30x1 cm elements. The particularly smooth and velvety appearance and finish of the surface is midway between the sobriety of Sannini materials and the perfection of polished products.

To enrich the floors, according to a Renaissance tradition where terracotta and marble are alternated, Sannini proposes an exclusive series of elements in natural stone of varying tonalities and formats. Fillets, dots, frets and rosettes enable one to freely plan and design different ornamental surfaces so that the decorations are dimensionally co-ordinated, particularly in thickness, with the various Sannini products, from the industrially extruded product to the hand-moulded one.
