COLLECTION GT GRANTOUR
A voyage without destination, or rather the destination is the vehicle itself.
All of us have tried (or would have liked to try) the exhilaration of travelling first class. It often happens that the vehicle on which we travel justifies the very fact of travelling. Inspired by sporting design and emotion, we have developed a concept dedicated to means of locomotion, wich we would like to define as "luxury sport".
Transforming cockpits into homes, elements up untill now contained in a very small space, now live in large spaces consecrated towards comfort and dynamics, what before created emotion for the duration of a voyage can now be experienced on a day to day basis. Almost like travelling from one room to another rather than interplanetary space, to the point that we have inserted the S continents to walk through bare foot, on soft and very modern silk carpets. Even the flags have assumed the symbolic role of change, always in the form of a carpet. we have transfigured elements wich are typical of boats, such as the portholes, the strings, the steel, the wood, the lacquers. we have created bedrooms which resemble floating dwellings, lounge rooms and bedrooms in the "bow" and in the "stern" initialled with the name of imaginary boats. Even the suitcases become modular elements wich lend themselues to the construction of an entire living room, almost simulating a luxurious waiting room. Other elements are inspired from the world of luxury automobiles: the extra large tyres, the steel sheet plates, the refined leathers of the upholstery, the particular stitching on the seats, the mechanical elements. A declared luxury without uulgarity, oriented towards comfort and an entertaining sobriety.

The Snowdonia bed is characterised by the soft fluidity of its lines, which make it a real 'nest'. The bed, frame and foot are all one continuous curve which is ready and waiting to welcome the sleeper. The comfortable softness of the bed is enhanced by the two oak-veneered 'bridge' feet with aluminium highlights at each end.

A major innovation this year is the inclusion of a line of beds. Starting with the LOWLAND collection and maintaining the same genetic code of movement and possible verticality, though introducing a morphological variant, Patricia Urquiola has designed an element for relaxation. Head and foot base are in plywood, head rest is in pinewood and plywood covered with non deformable polyurethane and polyester fiber. The wooden bed base has beechwood curved slats. Feet in stainless steel with underfeet in PVC. Lowland beds have completely loose covers and are delivered knocked down (k.d.)

In the legendary American West, the land of the Cowboy, all across Texas, including Dallas, there has always been a plentiful supply of a very special natural material – taken from cattle, it has the wonderful ability to mould itself with use, to adapt to shapes over time without weakening, and to age with great dignity: leather. This material is attractive, natural, soft, strong, malleable. It has its own special scent and is suitable for making many things. It is found not just in Dallas, but also in many other places all over the world where it is used with expertise – and at Meritalia, where craftsmen who know it very well have skilfully made a bed from it. This bed is Dallas, and it is made to last. The beds in the Dallas range are completely covered in leather, with a wide selection of colours. The choice of the hides, the stitching, the finish of the steel section is all carried out with craft techniques, making each individual element a one-off piece. The Dallas range also includes chests of drawers with sunken handles in dark-stained oak.

Marvin is a simple upholstered bed with four legs. The bed head is available in three different versions: one narrow and high headboard, one low and wide headboard and one low, wide headboard with a specially developed mechanism allowing for adjusting each bedside individually. Loose cushions complement the range. The beds are available in many different fabrics as well as in high-quality leathers. The fabric cover can be completely removed.
