21cm deep with two rows of genuine hand side-stitching. Horizontal handles - 8 on 150cm sizes. Air vents on all sides. Borders upholstered in protective lambswool. Finished with piped ticking.

New patented spring system
The springs of the Hästens 2000T are mounted one by one.
Each spring is mounted in its own fabric pocket and moves
independently when pressed down, giving you the most
comfortable night’s sleep possible. When you sit down on or
climb into the bed, the stronger springs around the edges and on
the corners handle movements effectively.
As well as the underlying spring system, the lower section also
has another special spring system which – together with the top
mattress’s new unique patented Swedish spring system – makes

With Hästens Excel you can enjoy Hästens' unique new patented spring system. Excel is wonderfully soft on the top and unbelievably flexible and comfortable, and gives you outstanding tension relief for your whole body. The springs are mounted individually in their own fabric pockets. The bottom springs have also been optimized to accommodate the new pocket spring system. The Hästens Excel also has extremely durable flax padding between and below the coils. Above the spring system is a layer of genuine horsehair, pure new wool and thick cotton. It's all wrapped up with Hästens' distinctive blue check fabric. Surrounding the bed is Hästens double-stitched cotton stretch fabric with the Hästens logo woven into the fabric. The stretch fabric has a flexible underlining, which makes the Excel even nicer to sleep on.
A better night's sleep
The first class natural stuffing material of genuine horsehair, pure new wool and cotton follows the contours of your body and allows air to circulate, which means you will always sleep at the proper temperature. The spring system, along with the natural filling material, the double-stitched stretch fabric and the solid, stable frame, means that you probably won't even notice when your partner turns over in bed during the night.

The Hästens Excelsior II is a continental bed for those with
very high demands regarding sleeping comfort. The middle
section features Hästens’ unique Swedish-patented spring
system, which provides excellent softness and pliability on
the surface, and a long lifespan. At the same time the lower
section supports your body and offers complete tensionrelieving
comfort. The mattress has Hästens’ stretch fabric
on the top and handles on the sides, and is also edge-stitched
by hand for maximum comfort.
Un ique layering method
Hästens Excelsior II is made using a unique layering method,
featuring more layers of horsehair, cotton and wool than
ever before. The new technique means that we divide up
the horsehair into several thinner layers, with membranes
of cotton/wool placed in between. This allows the springy
horsehair greater room to move, and so gives a higher TOG
rating and comfort. It boosts both surface softness and pliability,
and makes the bed more comfortable.
