FSB views its new lockset plate for glass doors (model 4224) as coherently complementing FSB lever handle models 1063, 1078 and 1088. The furniture harmonises with handle and frame and, through its lock cover, echoes with visual concision the divide between gripping and angled sections. Its surface lies flush with any DIN frame, causing it to visually unify frame and hardware. Door frames that are not to the DIN specification can, of course, also be used - though the flush-frame effect cannot then be guaranteed. The furniture can also be used in conjunction with partition systems.
The glass door's transparency is underscored by the tight dimensions of the lock cover, which is some 10 % smaller than in standard glass door furniture. This paring-down was achieved by developing a special-purpose lock that is every bit as rugged and functional as larger models as well as being suitable for all sizes of glass door. We have developed a special heavy-duty bearing for heavily frequented doors involving an expansion sleeve in Teflon-coated stainless steel that encompasses the door handle over its entire bushing area whilst also dependably withstanding the mechanical forces exerted on large-format glass doors.

Maximum level safety
Safety is extremely relevant in highly visited properties with frequently changing user group, for example, in public buildings, entertainment venues, hotels and hospitals.
In these types of buildings the equipping of emergency exits at which panic situations are to be expected is subject to compulsory application according to DIN EN 1125.
With the new panic bar DIN EN 1125, HEWI provides an innovative solution: A horizontal push-bar extending over the whole door width which is tested and certified together with the respective lock.
As a telescopic bar, it can be adjusted to the appropriate door width on site. Due to the minimised mechanism it also becomes a narrow fitting with small mounting depth.

Features:
An escape lock according to EN 179 is used for cases of emergency, in which a panic situation is unlikely, but for which safe escape through a door must be guaranteed
Releasing an emergency lock must be possible by one single action, even if previous knowledge about how to operate the lock is necessary
To open the door from the inside a lever handle is used
A panic lock is used as the locking element
Panic locks can be used with almost all types of door furniture and can be retrofitted as well
Areas of Applications:
Emergency exit doors according to EN 179 are specified for buildings with no public traffic and whose patrons have knowledge about the function of the emergency exit doors (e.g. employees of a company)
Advantages:
Only "tested units" are available
Simple operation
Panic locks can also be used with mechatronic cylinders and door furniture
