District is a collection of desks, cabinets, windows and walls that reinterprets systems furniture. District combines the attributes of classic furniture with the functionality of systems, making efficient use of smaller footprints.
Furniture Look and Feel
District echoes the work of mid-century modernists who designed office furniture with characteristically low, horizontal lines. The elegant architectural furniture of this period had a remarkable transparency achieved by elevated cabinets, overlapping surfaces and a refined scale. District uses and reinterprets these elements for the modern office.
District is also influenced by modern European residential furniture, characterized by a light, floating presence and compact dimensions. Teknion incorporates these concepts into familiar forms such as desks and bookcases that meet the needs of small office spaces. The use of natural veneers, glass, painted wood construction and anodized aluminum reflect these inspirations and brings the look and feel of furniture to the open plan.

U TOO is a system of tables, desks, cabinets and seating units which is meant to be a flexible system can be adapted to satisfy different needs coming out from everyday life. This molecular and adaptive system allows a number of combinations which elegantly fuse the qualities of the domestic and the efficiency of the modular. Desks with sinuous legs merge into the geometry of the cabinets, square pouf in different fabrics come together into a multicolor mosaic for relaxation, practical cabinets of spaces and cubes rise up to organize space in a basic way based on the needs of the user.
Living and working together is the concept embedded in every single piece of the system. U TOO is a meeting point or a private work space that is created by using dividing elements. Not only can the tables be extended creating different combinations for collaborative work, but also the casual pouf encourages staying and being together in the work place.
U TOO is created from a corner in fused aluminium, from where the structure for the table support emerges and from where there derives a whole series of accessories – low tables, sideboards, book cases, shelving, sofas and armchairs. Its soft sinuous forms are united/coupled to a high level of functionality. All electrification, communication and data cables are integrated in a single channel in the center of the free standing separator panel which can be opened easily by anyone.

As far as changing working positions - from sitting to standing – for telephone or computer work are concerned all renowned ergonomic experts come to a clear result: Man needs movement! A better blood circulation (also of the brain) is connected directly with motivation and the willingness to perform. Movement helps to improve the deduction of stress and to avoid the well-known disadvantages of unhealthy permanent sitting.
Office furniture systems which enable such a spontaneous change from sitting to standing simply and without any strain can therefore contribute a lot to the success of Call Centres . With only one hand movement the work station can be adjusted to a pleasant height for working in a standing position. All work equipment (also a computer plus monitor) will be moved together with the work station. This releases the Call Centre agents enormously.
