The Tradewind Turbine looks and acts like no other wind turbine. It stands on a 15 metre mast
and uses vertically mounted sails to harness wind power and produce energy.
The company expects the production model to produce approximately 15,000 kWh a year1.
Tradewind Turbines use sail-cloth and a yacht rigging type construction which allows
electricity production even at low wind speeds.
The sails can be plain, coloured or printed to allow them to blend with their environment,
so a 'sky' pattern or 'woodland' pattern are available. Alternatively they can be used to
carry advertising.
