Developed for the main purpose of keeping people safe, Stratobel is our extended range of laminated glass that looks identical to normal glass. Transparent protection is provided by interlayers made of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) that are sandwiched between two or more sheets of glass. If the glass is broken, most of the fragments adhere to the interlayer (in other words, the glazing stays in place) keeping people safe from injuries or falls and preventing intrusion. The safety level is determined by the thickness of the glass and the configuration (number of PVB interlayers).
Certified tests validate the performance of each product composition in terms of ageing (EN 12543), resistance to soft impact (EN 12600) and resistance to hard impact and burglary (EN 356).
By incorporating special PVB interlayers, special tinted float glass and/or coatings, additional functionality can be added to the existing safety functionality.
Ability to combine aesthetics, safety and other functions, such as solar control and thermal insulation in a single product.
Stratobel products are Cradle to Cradle CertifiedTM Silver.
Our technical support team ensures compliance with the latest standards and certifications. Certificates are available upon request.
