It breaks the reflections, transforms the echoes into reverberation, and moderates the excess of low frequencies.
It is appropriate for the parts of intermediate size like the auditoriums hi-fi, the home cinemas, the studios of recording or repetition, the vocal cabins.
In the small rooms, the interferences related to the specular reflections are very audible because the short wavelengths. It follows of marked colorings (effect of tank or bathroom), and of repeated resonances that one calls floating echoes (flutter echoes).
There exist two methods to control these reflections. One can attenuate them by absorption or disperse their energy by diffusion. Absorption is interesting when the part is brilliant and that the reverberation is too long. With these frequencies, the foam panels are appropriate for this use.
Easy way: fill the cavities with a dense mineral wool and cap the whole with a sheet of Sound Barrier.
Installation
The mural assembly is carried out by joining. We recommend the adhesive polyurethane to rapid hardening. The maintenance using rods splice plates out of wooden or PVC is also possible.
Dimensions of the diffuser are optimized for the direct installation on the metal framework of a suspended ceiling. Alternatively, the methods quoted previously also apply to the installation with the ceiling.
