The “Smart-One” is the modular barrier for intensive use. In addition to its fast and virtually noiseless opening, the barrier has a lasting stability. The look-and-feel of the barrier can be personalized with removable side panels. The web-based wireless controller “SmartControl” guides you to remote diagnostics and parametrisization. The Smart-One barrier is driven by an over sized brushless DC motor combined with adapted gearbox, specially tailored to be used in a barrier. The drive unit can deliver a high torque and can withstand heavy radial loads. This results in an extended expected lifetime of the unit. Also, the Smart-One barrier is equipped with a special designed power supply with an energy reflow capacitor. The advantages of the Smart-One power supply are: Robustness: no electronic parts, since the supply is based on a high efficient toroidal transformer. As a consequence, there is also less chance for EMC problems. Energy reflow capacitor: In the deceleration phase of the beam movement, the kinetic energy of the beam is recuperated and stored as electrical energy in the reflow capacitor. This energy will be used the next time the beam starts to move. This results in an overall higher efficiency of the barrier or, in other words, less electricity consumption.
