Interior and exterior inflatable structure
NOMAD
AREA CUBICA
Transforms the area where it is placed and its use changes depending on the incidence and intensity of the light that falls on it. A structure which is a mixture of inflatable and tensile architecture that also combines transparent fibres with dull colours. It continues to meet the basic characteristics of inflatable structures, the logistics functionality as well as introducing a cutting edge design. This structure's design was developed by GLORIA RIBERA in collaboration with the architecture studio ARQINTEGRAL for a project of the EINA school.
An inflatable tent especially for spaces that require visual communication between the interior and exterior that allows for communication between both areas. It is precisely for this reason that the structural part of the tent, the three arches, are made out of a transparent material, increasing its lightness and displacing the weight to the intermediate shade sails.
It is unquestionably one of the best examples of collaboration between an external designer and the àrea cúbica technical department.
It basically has three uses and the architectural characteristics can be viewed in the same way. Central area and/or dance floor for private parties. Tent for touring exhibitions and presentation area for new technologies. In all three cases it is intended that people enter and leave the area at ease to facilitate access to the activity and to avoid constraints in the flow of people.
