Garden pot ATELIER PROMETHEE VASE AUX AMOURS APTC088
This vase - exceptional in terms of its size and the quality of the decoration - is a replica of an antique Roman vase, held today at the Capitol in Rome. An engraving of the vase was produced in 1778 in Piranesi's studio. It is the archetypal classical vase of the type known as a Medici vase. Its gadrooned belly, generously decorated with acanthus leaves, is topped by a body ornamented with acanthus rinceaux. The handles are shaped at the base like the heads of small fauns and the upper lip is decorated with ovals and beading. Like all our garden ornaments and statues, the vase is in frostresistant sandstone to withstand the coldest conditions. It is also available in a brightly enamelled version for the home. It is an exceptional ornament for exceptional interiors.
