A small lantern with great significance
This is the story of the ceiling cup that became a candle light holder that became a whole series of fixtures. The founder of Lyktan Hans Bergström had throughout his work seen the luminaire and ceiling cup as a whole. The ceiling cup was not only practical for the hidden roof hook and electrical connection, but also an aesthetic detail. According to the hearing, Bergström would have completely sonically turned the ceiling cup upside down and found in it the basic form of a candle holder’s foot. The little lantern was 1958, ten years before Bumlingen was created, model 100L or Ofir as it is called today.
The lantern became the role model for Bumlingen, ateljé Lyktan’s leading icon luminaire.
