Description

Control stormwater run-off by providing uniform distribution into vegetated areas to keep the water from directly entering the storm drain network, reducing run-off volume and promoting distributed infiltration. Pervious concrete consists of portland cement, coarse aggregate, water and admixtures. The absence of sand in the mix creates voids in the pore structure which allow water and air to pass through the concrete. Previous concrete helps control storm water run-off and enables better land utilization by replacing complex drainage systems. It is recognized by the EPA as Structural Infiltration Best Management Practice (BMP). BASF's admixtures, including Glenium®, PolyHeed®, DELVO® and Rheomac®, help increase compressive strength, improve concrete placement and optimize effective voids in pervious concrete. Typical uses and applications include: parking lots, streets, road shoulders, bridge embankments, edge drains, driveways, sidewalks, patios, tennis courts, swimming pool decks, golf cart paths, greenhouse floors, zoo areas.
