STAAD.foundation is a cost-saving, comprehensive foundation design solution. It includes isolated footings, combined footings, strip footings, pile caps, and mat foundations. All the modules are integrated and share the same loading data. It can be used as a standalone product or integrated with STAAD.Pro.

STAAD.foundation can automatically absorb the geometry, loads, and results from a STAAD.Pro model to design foundations. It even keeps track of changes made in the STAAD.Pro model and can merge reaction output to the existing foundation model.

STAAD.foundation not only analyzes and designs a myriad of foundation configurations, it also produces production-quality reports and detailed 3D renderings of your foundation structures. With full OpenGL graphics, engineers can clearly see the displaced shape, stress distribution, reinforcement layout, and force diagrams of their supporting structure.

All models use physical objects including physical beams and slabs that do not require meshing. Layout drawing is a valuable tool; it shows the actual footing positions and sizes and even checks for overlaps. Calculation sheet is another popular tool, showing detailed step-by-step calculation with relevant code clauses and equations.
