Classic double bed BRUNO PIOMBINI
ALFIERI
Alfieri is a collection which recalls the style widespread in the north of Italy at the end of the eighteenth and at the beginning of the nineteenth century. At that time a peculiar technique, called slabbing, was adopted to enrich the pieces of furniture by using a precious type of wood like solid and thick walnut pieces.
The distinctive element of the Alfieri collection, beside the use of the multi ply solid walnut wood, is the handmade technique called "la Scagliatura".
Bruno Piombini's cabinetmakers, by using small manual planers, are able to wave the surface of the piece of furniture, in order to set off the volume and the grain of the wood.
These distinctive elements are both present in the Living Collection and in the Bedroom Collection.
The solid walnut wood and the "Scagliatura" way of planing are matched together with intarsia decoration on the doors.
It is a refined work of cabinetry, which creates an elegant geometric decoration by intercrossing the different grains of the wood.
