Corten is a special high-resistant, self-passivating alloy, which contains cooper, chromium and phosphor. Natural changeable-looking metal in continuous evolution, it’s characterized by the strong resistance to corrosion (COR-rosion) and high mechanical strength (TEN-sile), with the benefit of reduced maintenance operation.. Characteristics: A proper characteristic of Corten is oxidation when in contact with the air, which, instead of continuing to erode the material, stops, and creates a protective coating with an extraordinary aesthetic aspect that does not change over time. Product types: Cor-ten A, resistant to weathering far superior than common steel. Cor-ten B, characterized by a chemical composition that maintains mechanical properties also in thick sheets. Cor-ten C, has a mechanical resistance greater than the other two types.
