ALESSIO BASSAN, 2005 — Its rigorous geometry resembles a piece of rationalist architecture. Quadro is a line of cabinets and sideboards that represents an explicit propensity towards the visual arts. This piece of furniture plays with the concept of dimensionality. The facade’s characteristic checkerboard structure, which is made up of uniform squares, consists of two levels with differing depths, creating an overall dynamic effect. Each square’s texture can be customized, an aspect which contributes to making Quadro one of the most versatile products in the Living collection.
Cabinets with bi-folding doors, tops and sides are adjoined at 45° by means of recessed angular joints. The external sides and the top of the cabinet have a 10 × 10 mm milling, and resulting gap allows the door opening. The self-standing cabinets have the bottom positioned 30 mm higher in order to allow the fixing of the front plinth and the small adjustable feet. The frontals are made of panels 300 × 300 mm in two different thicknesses (30 and 18 mm).
