The table designed for President Mitterand's private office at the Elysee Palace. Totally collapsible, the tubular legs are indeed a second level structure, providing the base for the real supporting elements: fins or angel wings, so visually striking and so functional that the crystal top they support, seems to be floating. The uncontaminated genius of the early work of Starck, that Baleri Italia helped to discover, is expressed in a timeless object, a contemporary table that is already part of the history of design.
