Asteo 2 is a thermodynamic water heater. In other words, it contains a small heat pump that collects heat energy from the air in an unheated room (such as a laundry room, cellar, or garage), amplifies this heat energy, and transmits it so that it can be used to heat domestic hot water.
Like all heat pumps, its performance is measured by its coefficient of performance, or COP. Under the conditions set out in the EN 16147 standard on thermodynamic water heaters, Asteo 2 has a COP of 2.64. As a result, your electricity bills are as much as 75% lower than with a conventional heating system. For each kW consumed, 2.64kW are returned to your domestic hot water.
