Menorcan architecture in the 18th century is quite unique compared to the typical Balearic, Spanish and European architecture. During this period the islands production remained largely classical. This classical style presents a different focus, not an evolution of, traditional island architecture. This new style has a more British, not Spanish influence due to historical reasons in Menorca at his time. However all architectural styles at this time had many aspects in common. All were influenced by the natural surroundings found in each case. From this British influence Jose Antonio Coderech found his inspiration. His observation of British building techniques present in the Capilla model. At this time both Federico Correa and Alfonso Mila worked and collaborated in same studio.
