The true design intention was to create the presence of a bookcase with less material than would be needed for a shelf. Combining the lightness and playful nature of positive and negative space the SP2 displays each of its contents suspended in architectural design. Still adhering to a modern minimal perspective the SP2 also infuses craftsmanship and durability bringing a look and structure that supercedes previous design innovations.
Sustainable design is a major factor in this design. The shelves are being manufactured in recycled plastic (see pic of shelves in recycled black plastic below) as well as being shipped in a flat package.
