The model shown here is the "backgammon priority" version. It features special compartments providing a practical, elegant and mysterious way to store the backgammon pieces and leather dice. The lids of these compartments swivel on three pivoting hinges (constructed in solid beech like the rest of the table), uncovering two recesses that position the rigid leather game board. The board is plain on one side for cards games, and can be finished with markings for chess or any other game on the other side. This game board covers and protects the leather backgammon board in official dimensions. The central bar with a slider and marks for the wagers serves as a doubling cube. In playing position, the board slides on channels under the table's apron.
