DVELAS has been able to adapt the technology used on large ships and transfer it to the decks on land. Nautical systems based on ropes and pulleys are used to hold the sails and give them tension, and at the same time, a special design of mast with four rails has been developed to regulate the height and control several sails at the same time. We propose the possibility of offering a double function in our awnings by inserting lighting inside the sails. The same material that protects from the sun during the day is transformed into an original luminaire at nightfall. The sails can incorporate also a misting system, ideal for dry and hot environments, designed to cool the temperature up to 10 degrees without condensation. Besides the sails can be treated with a nanotechnological product that applied to its surface reacts to sunlight to decompose pollutant gases in the air and transform them into oxygen resulting in a chemical process similar to photosynthesis.
