Contemporary solid wood / stainless steel kitchen ELMAR cucine
EL_01
The new programme El_01 launched this year by Elmar carries the signature of Studio Palomba Serafini Associati. This programme suggests the idea of a new kitchen; urban, architectural, incredibly flexible thanks to an innovative scheme that allows many combinations. Innovative are the coloured sheet-steels, the combination of steel and wood, all in a view to a kitchen that can mix lightness with very thick profiles.
The islands are strongly characterized by the tops and side panels that come from a single bent steel panel with a visible thickness of 8 mm. The contrast between these thin profiles and thicker elements distinguish the project with a strong look. Functional elements made of coloured sheet-steels create a highlight that melts with the stainless steel units and the parts made of solid natural iroko, a wood that being highly water proof and strong is ideal for a long use.
Shelves stand out for their reduced thickness that gives a great and elegant formal lightness, used in different contexts, underneath the top, on the boiserie or as an extra feature at the back of the freestanding fridge. The big wooden top over the steel shelf on the kitchen is an element that, like a big chopping board, becomes ideal for preparing food.
